Protect Our Precioso Resources
Abigail Precioso (nsfw gallery) is muy precioso. Definitely a natural resource worth protecting.Another natural resource I'm all about protecting are the coral reefs, particularly because they don't get a lot of press and people don't seem to get what terrible danger they are in. This probably has something to do with the fact that they are freakin' under water and we can't see how sick they are.
Anyway, here's the problem: global warming is causing slight changes in ocean temperature and currents. Doesn't sound like a lot right? Well, as I've mentioned before, just a slight change in environment can cause massive die-offs of coral organisms and kill entire reefs. What's worse is that coral only grows back at a rate of about a patch the size of a dime per year. No coral equals a decline in reef habitat, and a decline in reef habitat equals less fish to eat.

Now for today's bad news: Caribbean Sea temperatures have reached their annual high two months ahead of schedule — a sign coral reefs may suffer the same widespread damage as last year.
What to do?
